Rueter-Hess Recreation

Activities (Rueter-Hess)

Through extensive public outreach, the Authority established a conceptual master plan (PDF) in 2016. Future recreational opportunities may include soft-surface trails and non-motorized watercraft. To start, however, the reservoir will only be open for limited recreational programming.

With direction from the Authority, on-site seasonal programs and special events will be offered in the future. Registered participants will be allowed to enter the reservoir during the scheduled events.

Water Recreation

Water recreation, including fishing, at Rueter-Hess Reservoir will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, through Nov. 9.

Beginning Nov. 10 winter hours will be 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Our new winter hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Water Recreation, Paddle Sports and fishing are now closed for the season as well.
