Although Rueter-Hess is closed to water access for fishing and paddle sports we remain open to land-based activities within the guidelines of the Rules and Regulations. If you plan to visit by car to hike, picnic or view wildlife, please reserve a parking spot by clicking here.
Nestled in the sandstone-rimmed bluffs and Gamble Oak valleys of northeastern Douglas County, Rueter-Hess Reservoir beckons history buffs, day hikers, dog walkers, water-sport enthusiasts, and local anthropologists alike.
