The Perry Park Road Traffic Safety Improvement Project is located on Perry Park Road from the Douglas/El Paso County Line (Milepost 9.5) to Wolfensberger Road (Milepost 28.2). The project includes shoulder widening and installation of guardrail through the curves on Perry Park Road just north of Red Rock Drive between Milepost 18.7 and Milepost 19.5 to mitigate overturning crashes through these reverse curves. The project also includes the construction of rumble stripes along the centerline and edge line striping of the roadway to mitigate off-the-road accidents and opposite-direction sideswipe accidents.
Construction of the project is being funded by a federal Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant in the amount of $2,148,300 with a 10% local match from Douglas County. The total County investment in the project for design, construction, and construction management is $1,108,400.50.
Design has been completed. Construction of the project will begin in September 2022.
