Description

The 2023 neighborhood street paving program in Highlands Ranch includes streets in the Wagon Box Circle, Jaguar Way, Huntington Circle, Cheetah Tail, and South Ranch Road areas.

On each street, work will be done in three phases:

  • The first phase consists of sidewalk repairs and curb ramp upgrades which started in April 2023. Sidewalk repairs usually take between 2 to 4 weeks to complete per neighborhood; while work on a single block will generally take 3 to 4 days.
  • The second phase takes place in the summer of 2023 and consists of rotomilling to remove some of the top layers of asphalt. Rotomilling generally takes 2 to 4 hours or less per block to complete.
  • The third (and final) phase follows rotomilling by 1 to 2 weeks and includes placing the new asphalt overlay; this phase may take 4 – 8 hours to complete.

During construction, access to driveways is allowed, with occasional short delays. If the sidewalk contractor needs to replace the sidewalk in front of your driveway/address, they will notify you directly so you can move your vehicles before the work is done.

Additionally, to notify adjacent residents of the planned work, Douglas County will send out Cone Zone Mailers 1 to 2 weeks before the start of sidewalk repairs and/or rotomilling work.

A minimum of 2 days before the start of rotomilling and paving (overlay), no-parking signs will be posted along the streets scheduled for work.
