Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Community Investments

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allows a variety of expenditures to support persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Douglas County has established an initiative to identify ways that ARPA funding could be used to fill gaps in services to this population, particularly in regard to housing, transportation, employment, day programs, and respite.

ARPA funds may be used to augment the existing services provided through the Developmental Disabilities Mill Levy, which is a one-mill property tax dedicated to services for persons with developmental disabilities that was established in 2001. More information about this funding source and its implementation can be found by clicking here.
