The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provides a COVID-19 Community Level tool to help communities decide what prevention steps to take based on the latest data. Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area. Being aware of these levels may help you take precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 Community Level in your area.
The Community Level will be updated weekly on Friday.
Feb. 3 – Community Level is Low
The Colorado COVID-19 wastewater monitoring tool utilizes wastewater surveillance to track trends in COVID-19 infection by region. Wastewater testing can provide an early warning about increases or decreases in COVID-19 cases in the community. Note that not all regions in the state participate in wastewater surveillance. Douglas County has three wastewater utility districts within its boundaries participating in this surveillance. To view the data for Douglas County, select each district individually (Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, and South Platte). Additional information on wastewater surveillance in Colorado is available from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE).
