Body Art Facilities

Body art facilities offer services such as tattooing, body piercings (not ear piercings), and permanent makeup. Douglas County Health Department regulates body art facilities to protect health and prevent disease. The health department inspects these facilities to verify they are compliant with health requirements. Environmental health staff also investigate complaints from the public.

Opening a Body Art Facility

To open and operate a body art facility, review and complete the Body Art Application. You may submit the application to [email protected] or mail it to 410 S Wilcox St. Suite 103, Castle Rock, CO 80104. Once your application has been submitted, one of our inspectors will reach out to schedule an inspection. Following the inspection and final approval, a license will be issued.
