Business Requests for Handouts Don’t Help Signs

Douglas County is known for the generosity of our citizens and their desire to help those who may need it.  A public awareness campaign has been developed to redirect the kindness and generosity of our residents in support of the unhoused.  The campaign includes uniform signage, “Handouts Don’t Help,” strategically located throughout the county, which encourages residents and businesses to contribute toward local services that support those who are experiencing homelessness, rather than giving money directly to panhandlers.  This is a safe way for well-meaning residents to contribute toward a community-wide solution.  The signage offers a safe way to donate through DouglasHasHeart.org and connect to Homeless Engagement Assistance and Resource Team (HEART) for help, community resources, and outreach.

There are multiple options available for businesses to obtain signage.  Options include:

Handouts don't help - no drill holes on sign for electronic correspondence

Please contact Melody D’Haillecourt at 303-814-4380 or [email protected] for assistance obtaining sign and installation options.
