Traffic Alerts – January 2024
This alert page is a one-stop shop to keep up with construction, maintenance, and repair projects around Douglas County. Updates are added throughout the month as we receive information. Check back regularly to see what’s happening that might impact you. Keep in mind all projects are weather dependent.

Parker Road and Tomahawk – NEW 4-way stop
Douglas County Public Works will be installing new stop signs at the intersection of Parker and Tomahawk roads, making the intersection a 4-way stop. Installation will take place Wednesday, Jan. 24and Thursday, Jan. 25, requiring drivers traveling in all directions to stop. 4-way stops are installed when increased traffic and crash rates warrant them.
Waterton Road Landscaping and Lane Closures
Landscaping is still occurring on Waterton Road alternating lane closures between Mount Kataka and Rampart Range Road, both eastbound and westbound. The project began in August 2023 and will be ongoing through 2024. Work will occur from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday -Friday, with alternating lane closures going both east and west (one lane closure at a time in east and west directions on Waterton Rd.). Hillside Way in the Pinery Subdivision
The project began on Aug. 2 and involves the replacement of the water main. Douglas County has partnered with Pinery to conduct drainage repairs or install new drainage systems as part of this project including mill and overlying the road upon completion. The Storm Sewer work was completed in December 2023. The Project is 50% milled and overlayed and is now closed for the winter, with anticipation of work starting again in the spring of 2024 (March) to complete the paving.
