Posted on December 19, 2023 2023News and Events

In observance of Christmas, all Douglas County offices will close at noon Friday, Dec. 22, and are closed for the entire day Monday, Dec. 25, 2023. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, for normal business.

Offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, in observance of New Year’s Day and reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, for normal business.

Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services. License plate renewal is available online or at kiosks located throughout the County and state.

While offices are closed for the holidays, you can still enjoy many open space properties and parks in Douglas County on Christmas and New Year’s Day. This includes Rueter-Hess Reservoir, where reservations for fishing are accepted Fridays through Mondays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the water ices over. Visit our webpage for reservation details. Visit DCOutdoors.org to plan your holiday outing. Reservations are not required to enjoy the trails.
