Douglas County is election-ready in 2023. Are you?

Check your voter status and find a ballot drop box near you

Posted on September 18, 2023 2023Elections

If you are a registered voter in Douglas County, anticipate the arrival of your ballot by mail the week of Oct. 16. Follow the checklist below to make sure you are election-ready for the Nov. 7, 2023, Coordinated Election. And remember, DouglasVotes.com is your trusted source for election information.

  1. Check your voter registration/register to vote. Visit Colorado’s secure, statewide voter registration database, GoVoteColorado.gov, to register to vote, check your voter registration status, select your political affiliation, or update your mailing address. If your mailing address has changed since you last voted in a Douglas County election, be certain to update it now to ensure you receive your mail ballot and other important election information.
  2. Locate your closest Ballot Drop Box or Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC). Did you know that 90% of Douglas County voters prefer to deliver their ballots for free using one of the convenient ballot drop box locations countywide? Twenty-one secure ballot drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day beginning Oct. 16, 2023, through 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 7, 2023. For those who need in-person voter assistance, four VSPC locations open across Douglas County on Oct. 30. Visit a VSPC of your choice to register to vote or update your voter registration, replace a ballot, drop off your voted ballot, vote in person, or use an ADA-accessible voting machine, until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
  3. Visit DouglasVotes.com for election information. Colorado has been conducting all-mail ballot elections since 2014 and is regarded as a national model for election integrity, security, and high voter turnout. Watch this short “Life of a Ballot” video to see exactly how the process works and visit the Trusted Election Information page for tools to identify and stop the spread of misinformation.
