Unclaimed Funds

Douglas County has made several attempts to locate the rightful owners of unredeemed stale dated checks. If you believe you have a claim for the funds, the contact information is available at the top of each report. Proof of claim will be required.

After a period of 1 year, and in compliance with Colorado State Statute, the Treasurer’s property tax overpayments and Finance vendor unredeemed payments are turned over to the Great Colorado Payback.

After a period of 6 months, and in compliance with Colorado State Statute, Public Trustee overages on foreclosed property sales are submitted to the Great Colorado Payback.  For more information visit the Great Colorado Payback website.
