Project Update

October 3 – October 17, 2022: The contractor will be placing soil retention mat and topsoil, grading for the roadside ditch, paving the top asphalt mat, and installing a new signal head on the eastbound Titan Parkway Signal.

See “US 85 and Titan Interchange Improvements” Map Location in pictures below.

This Project consists of widening the US 85 northbound on-ramp at Titan Parkway to improve safety and traffic operations. The Project also includes striping modifications on Titan Parkway to add a second left turn lane and widening of the northbound on-ramp which includes: guardrail, concrete slope and ditch paving, soil retention mat, and curb and gutter.

Signing and Striping Plan for US 85 / Titan Interchange

Prior to construction, Douglas County worked with CDOT to get final environmental approval and other CDOT access permits to allow the County to widen the northbound US 85 on-ramp and restripe Titan Road over US 85. Douglas County’s consultant also performed a subsurface utility engineering investigation and determined which major utility companies needed to relocate their facilities before construction of widening the northbound ramp could occur.

The Board of County Commissioners approved a construction contract with Kraemer North America on July 26, 2022 for this project from Titan Parkway to northbound US Highway 85. This project will improve safety and traffic operations for the on-ramp, which is located near the Roxborough and Sterling Ranch subdivisions.

Construction started on August 18, 2022, and is expected to be substantially completed before the end of the year (2022).
