New and returning elected officials sworn into office in Douglas County

In one of the first official actions of 2023, 18th Judicial District Court Judge Theresa Slade completed the swearing in ceremony for Douglas County’s re-elected Commissioner and newly elected Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Coroner, Sheriff and Surveyor.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, officials took the oath of office at the Philip S. Miller Building in Castle Rock, witnessed by family, friends, supporters, and County employees.

Commissioner Abe Laydon was sworn in for his second term. Newly sworn in officials include Assessor Toby Damisch, Clerk and Recorder Sheri Davis, Coroner Raeann Brown, Sheriff Darren Weekly and Surveyor Darrell E. Roberts

Treasurer David Gill, who took the oath of office on Dec. 30, 2022, was also recognized.
