Burial Assistance

Assistance with cremation, funeral, or burial costs up to $1,500 may be available for individuals who were receiving financial assistance or medicaid.

General/Emergency Assistance

Emergency one-time assistance may be available to Douglas County residents for help, in certain instances, with rent, utility bills, prescriptions, gas, or food. This program is available dependent upon funding availability. Burial/cremation assistance for individuals who had low-income may also be available.

Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)

LEAP is designed to assist low-income households with paying their winter home heating costs but is not intended to pay the entire cost of home heating or utility usage. The program is available November through April.
