Douglas County Veterans Day Tribute, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019

What are you doing on Veterans Day to honor those who have served in all branches of the military?

The Douglas County Office of Veterans Affairs in conjunction with the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation will conduct a Veterans Day Tribute on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 11 a.m. at the DC Veterans Monument Plaza located at the corner of Wilcox and Fourth Streets in downtown Castle Rock. The program will feature a special remembrance and will honor all veterans – past and present.

Fort Logan National Cemetery will also hold a Veteran’s Day ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. to honor the sacrifices many have made for our country in the name of freedom and democracy.

Sponsor a wreath now for a Wreaths Across America (WAA) Ceremony on Dec. 14

Wreath laying ceremonies to honor veterans will be held on Dec. 14 at Cedar Hill Cemetary in Castle Rock and at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath laying ceremonies in all 50 states and beyond.

The ceremony at Cedar Hill is at 10 a.m. and is being organized by American Heritage Girls Troop 8909 – sponsor a wreath using this form. Volunteers to participate in the wreath laying are welcome.
