Pretrial Intake operates out of the Douglas County Sheriff’s detention facility and is responsible for interviewing defendants booked into the jail, contacting the defendant’s family/friends to verify information, and preparing bond reports that include the defendant’s criminal history and social factors. The District/County courts review bond reports to assist in setting appropriate bonds for criminal cases. The CJS officers in this program are assigned the responsibility of investigating defendants who fail to appear for their scheduled court dates and making arrangements for the defendants to turn themselves in, or to be taken into custody by law enforcement.
