Former Douglas County Commissioner Jim Sullivan

Jim Sullivan’s family asks all who attend the Saturday, Oct. 16, 3-5 p.m. Celebration of Life for their beloved “Sully” to wear something red – to create the sea of red at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Event Center in recognition of Sullivan’s alma mater, the University of Nebraska.

The former Douglas County Commissioner, who served in this capacity from 1989–2004, and served one two-year term as a Colorado state representative, died in his Perry Park home on April 14, 2020, at the age of 92.

Sullivan, who was born in Iowa in 1927, was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War.

Jim Sullivan’s legacy was captured in the Douglas County News-Press and in Colorado Politics on April 17, 2020.
